Repair ideas for base

the base portion that holds the pivoting cillender has broken on my PM. It was the thin outside part of the plastic. is their an easy fix/ glue, PVC or ABS, Super glue or epoxy? Puting a metal reinforcement strap over the broken part and srewing it down? What has worked for you?

If it can not be fixed, Rob, can you take it as a product return and send me a new base? Most companies I deal with, if you have damaged goods will take the return.

Chris,

Your PeniMaster is covered for 3 years against breakage. Please consult your warranty booklet that came with the device. You will need to either return the device to the manufacturer for a new one, or send them a digital photo of the breakage.

While you wait on the excellent customer service provided by the penimaster folks, you might get a tube of JB Weld and give it a try. Growing up we used to use it to fix the front grills on cars and trucks and lots of other plastic items.

When I receivd my PM, it had a small crack on the inside support by the swivels on both sides. I took a digital photo and emailed the manufacturer. Within a week, I received a replacement.

I used the PM for the week that I was waiting for the replacement and it eventually cracked almost all the way accross.

To repair: get some plastic glue. I don't know specifically what type of plastic is used for the PM as it is not marked. You could try glue for plastic models. That glue is designed to melt & weld two pieces of plastic together. Just don't use too much glue or your pivot won't work properly.

AND DON"T WORRY... if you contact the manufacturer, you should get a replacement rather quickly!
