The coldest weather I've ever experienced was a period of about two weeks where every day the temperature hovered around minus 40, with a wind chill factor anywhere from -80 to -110. I remember they were warning people on the news not to go outside under any circumstances. Of course, I worked outside at the time, and my boss was a prick, so I was outside 10 hours a day in that stuff. If I never see that kind of cold again it'll be just fine with me. Nothing like trying to breathe air so cold that you get a brain freeze with every breath.

I grew up in Michigan, by the way. It's not normally anywhere near that cold in winter, that one time was a total anomaly. Of course, they also say you know you're from Michigan if you define summer as 3 months of bad sledding.
