I tend to agree with most of what others have written on this issue, Artemis. It really sounds like your girlfriend likes you but maybe she does not love you. At least not yet she doesn't. If y'all's relationship were very solid, she would not be telling you could there perhaps be someone else out there better for her. You haven't proven to her yet that there is no one else out there better for her.

My guess is she has not broken up yet because she might want to see if there is a "spark" with her old boyfriend. If she sees him or goes out with him and he has changed, say for the worse, then she comes back to you. If she really likes him and there is that special "spark", then I am afarid she will break up. I am no psychologist, but from what you have written, it sounds as if she is using you as her "safety net" until she gets her feelings processed.

I'm only going add a very small thing here as everyone has already given really good feeback. Dude, she's 22. You can't possibly expect her to know exactly what she wants at that age. Hell, some women don't know what they want when they're 32! Give her some space and if it works out, then it was meant to be........if not, then it's time to move on.

No, absolutely not. I want someone who's going to respect me for me, be happy with who I am and not bitch or complain that I'm not the person she wants me to be. It sounds like your that stability in her life. She isn't done playing. Your the safety net. I would say she strings you along just enough. To play into her agenda.
