It seems from the posts that I have read that quite a few people have problems staying erect with the JD. I've found that the best thing to do is ALWAYS warmup BEFORE using the JD for about 5-10 minutes. Heating pads work really well for this. Also you may want to do some light stretching.
Then, I've found that it's easier if you sit on the edge of your bed or a comfortable(padded) chair, and jelq downward with the JD with two hands.
When you are moving the JD back to the base of your penis for another rep, kegel right then to force the blood back into the shaft.
You can also put on a cock ring with low tension(not too tight, don't want to bust any vessels!) and then do the above.
