Had a chance to catch my breath now, get the dust out of my nose and ears.
Went to the CORR championships in Chula Vista (Otay Mesa) for a day of spectacular off road racing. Gates opened at 10am and the event went until almost 6pm. Now, I am a big NASCAR fan, been to a few races, but this style of racing, ROCKS. The event will be broadcast on Nov. 4th, on the Speed Channel, try and catch it. We had reserved seating, which gives you access to the pits and were less than 100 feet from the catch fence at the start/finish line with a great view of the big banking in turn two. Great angle to see the action. The 'Super Buggies' have a whopping 850 hp and absolutely scream around the 1 mile track.
They run around banking that is at least 45 degrees and twist and turn throughout the entire course with some great jumps. I've raced off-road, Baja 1000, 500, and several smaller races, but when you are out on the course, you might only see one or two other competitors all the time you are racing. Here it was all condensed in a door to door style of racing and it was totally wild. These closed circuit cars are designed for just this style of racing, i.e. light weight, massive hp, fiberglass bodies. When they would tangle, or go end over end they would literally come apart down to the frame. They don't throw a yellow flag for debris, like they do in NASCAR and there was pieces of cars all over the course and flying all around. We sat, facing due South so the sun was directly on us all day. It was about 88 degrees and yeah, I got totally burned, but had a great time. Tried to attach some pictures but couldn't size them down from 1.03 MB so they would not attach. Somebody tell me how to make them thumbnail and will do this.

Make sure they are saved as jpegs. If they are still over 100KB, you'll have to crop or shrink them.
