Star Knights

This is a work in progress. I will submit the chapters as I write them. JonPop

STAR KNIGHTS

PRELUDE

The sentry sat astride his horse, the night was black and still. Nibs' smaller moon had risen and the larger moon was just starting to crest the horizon. He was staring intently into the blackness, his head cocked, trying to make out the sound that was off in the distance.

His world suddenly ended as an arrow lodged in his back. He slipped from his horse without a sound.

The world of Nib had been a peaceful place, in the genteel age of chivalry and Knighthood.
Now it found it's self embroiled in a war not of it's making and under attack by hordes of roving bands of rogue Knights. Many of their own Knights had been wounded or killed and they have put out a plea for any planet that had Knights with fighting experience to come and stop the slaughter.
They will not allow modern weapons on their planet as they do not want to be thrust into accelerated growth.
They had always been a peaceful people and their only violence, was in the jousting games. Their own Knights had great skill in jousting, but not in killing.

Earlier that week:

The King had for the third time told the baron that he would not deal with Chung, the leader of the hordes.
The baron pleaded with his king to reconsider as the threats were becoming more real and there were rumors of rogue knights being assembled.

The federation was desperate for the kings huge stores of Gallium. The other planets where this mineral was found had been stripped eons ago. Nib was the last convenient source for the fuel needed to power the federation terra-forming machinery.
Human expansion was desperate for new worlds.
The federation was forbidden to interfere by direct action and if the kingdom was overthrown, their supply would be held hostage by Chung.

The federation was willing to go any lengths to keep the source of Gallium and approached the King with an offer to search through history to find help that wouldn't compromise the directives.

Sir JonPop came out of hyper-sleep a day earlier at his request than the rest of the Moderator Knights,
he saw that Sir Remek was also awake.
They wanted to do some modification of the plans with the federation team, before the others were awakened. All of this had happened so fast, that he was still having a hard time coming to grips with the whole concept that the Knights of BetterMan and the PE Gym had been thrust into.

He remained still, in the chamber on the advice of the team doctor. He was being hydrated and fed through a strange(to him) machine. His mind was clearing fast and he started thinking how this strange event had come about.

Three months earlier they had met with King Arthur and some very strangely dressed men in the hall of the round table.
King Arthur had a very odd request. He said, "BetterMan Knights of the round table and the distinguished Moderator Knights from the PEG Kingdom .
These men have come from a very distant place and so they tell me, a distant time as well.

They have come seeking our help to fight in a war not of their making but one which is of upmost importance to the furtherance and expansion of humanity.
They have brought our two Kingdoms together as a select group because of our special skills and courage.

The BetterMan Knights that have been selected to fight in this crusade are:

Sir JonPop, Sir Sonic Celt, Sir Bret, Sir Stud, Sir Uberschwanz and Sir Marty.

The Moderator Knights from the kingdom of PEG are:

Captain, Sir Remek, Sir Iguana and Sir Stillwantmore.

The team has been purposely kept small as you will be for the most part, advisors and teachers.
I know that the concept of fighting a war on a far distant planet one that you could not see on the clearest night is something that you have been talking about amongst yourselves for the past several days.
All of you have been chosen for your special talents and as space is limited in the vessel that conveys you, they have specified the size of the team of Knights."

The rewards that they are offering are riches beyond belief and will assure the continuance of the Kingdoms of BetterMan and PEG for ages to come.

The Knights were given 3 days to spend time with family or to make last arrangements.

As the day arrived to go to the waiting craft that was to take them on an amazing adventure. The Knights assembled one last time at the round table. King Arthur spoke from the heart as he asked the Lord to bless and protect his comrades.

The Knights were in awe of the craft but were given little time to even think. They were given a short briefing by Doctor Sweety about suspended animation sleep and after being given an injection, were placed in their individual pods.

The Knights, upon awakening had all been asked to assemble in the cargo hold of the craft.
This was the only area large enough for them and the four federation team members to meet as a group.

Sir Uberschwanz was fascinated with the wall of the cargo hold, he would press his hand against the metal and it was soft and resilient to the touch.
When he would remove his hand the impression of his hand would remain for a few seconds.
He asked a man nick named 'Hot Rod', the ships engineer, what strange metal this was.
He laughed and said, "Sir Uberschwanz, this is not metal in the way that you understand metal. This is a living organism. The entire ship is grown, not manufactured. I can't explain the process any further because there are no terms you would understand in the Old English that you speak.

The Captain of the craft, Captain Slanker, said, "May I have your attention please" and paused.

"Sir JonPop and Sir Remek have extensively gone over the rules that must be adhered to when you are set down upon the planet of Nib.
All of your armor and weapons have been transported with you and you will have mounts awaiting you at the site. You will be escorted to the King and be assigned quarters."

He continued, "King Robert the XXVII, is the sole ruler of the planet Nib. This is how it has always been and until recently, the line of Robert has never been challenged. The planet has enjoyed peace and prosperity for thousands of years under their guidance.

Now, the rule is being challenged by a rebel named Chung. He seeks to gain control of the Gallium deposits that have been the source of income for King Roberts and his people.
The King has always been paid a fair price for the mineral, from the Federation, but with the impending scarcity, Chung sees this as a way to gain control and charge any price that he wants. He knows that the Federation is desperate for Gallium and would pay any price.
He has assembled a band of mercenary Knights that were trained by one of the King's own top Knights that had been lured away with the promise of great riches and power.
He is now in the midst of a revolt and only the strength of the castle and the strong city walls has so far thwarted Chungs efforts."

The hyper sleep had been a blessing for the Knights. The three month journey would have played havoc with their minds. As it was, the last two days of deceleration were very upsetting.
Because of the spin of the craft to maintain gravity the only thing visible through the small windows were streaks of light that seemed to envelope the blackness.
The Knights did what they could to make them selves comfortable and stay out of the way of the federation team. They spent the time getting to know each other.

Captain Remek and the two Knights from the Kingdom of REM, were acquainted with Sir Sonic because of the Jousting games that had been held in the Kingdom of REM.
Sir Stillwantmore had lost a close match to Sir Sonic in the final match for the championship.

The BetterMan knights were surprised to learn that Sir Iguana had been chosen for this mission because of his language skills.
He had the ability to hear a language, converse with the speaker and become fluent in the language in a matter of hours.

Sir Stud and Sir Marty spent most of their time playing chess and talking about women. Sir Stud said, "I hope to heck they got some pretty women on this place. I'm so horny I can't stop drooling over Doctor Sweety. Hell man, I'd throw her down on a bunk and do her in a heartbeat."
Sir Marty laughed at this and said, "Studly, you are the horniest man alive. I'm sure that if there're any women that you can push over backwards, that ya'll will find them in the first hour."

Sir Uberschwanz spent as much time as the crew would allow, in the nerve center of the craft.
He had pretty much glued himself to the side of Science Officer Kingpole, asking endless questions.

He was fascinated with the fact that there were no visible means to control the craft.
A command was spoken and it was carried out.
The flat surfaces when touched, would bring up an image in front of the face that you could put your hand through.
Finally Science Officer Kingpole, tired of the endless questions that he couldn't explain in any terms that Sir Uberschwanz could understand, had asked him to return to the cargo hold. He said to inform the other Knights that they would be landing within the hour and to dress themselves in their armor.

Sir Bret and Sir Stillwantmore begun removing the strange white packing that the armor and weapons had been transported in and passed them out.

Doctor Sweety stuck her head in the hold and said, "We will be on the planet Nib is just a few minutes... Oh, I see that you are putting on your armor. An envoy from King Robert is waiting and you will want to look your finest." Sir Stud said, "Hey Doc, ya'll always look your best, Wanna play Doctor?"

Captain Slanker entered the hold and said, "Gentlemen, we are now on the planet Nib, what you observe will be both similar to your planet of Earth and in many ways different. You are all very experienced and Brave Knights and you will be expected to maintain dignity and honor at all times.

Sir JonPop and Captain Remek have briefed you on the rules that must be adhered to during your stay as guests of King Robert. Your primary function on this mission will be; Recruit, assemble and train a fighting force of Knights to defeat the threat of Chung. In other words, you must teach these people that abhore killing, to kill.

The planet Nib had no need of an army for thousands of years, as there had been virtually no crime.

This world was a showplace for tourists from many worlds and far away galaxies to come and be entertained in the ancient ways of Knighthood and games.
Many worlds had brought their own Knights to participate but none were professional and belonged to groups that saw this as an exciting chance to play "Knight" for a day.

The best of luck to you, Sir Knights. After you depart the craft there will be no more contact from our team until you have completed your task and you will be on your own with just your skills and knowledge to accomplish this mission."

Doctor Sweety couldn't resist and said, "Good luck, Sir Stud," and gave him a big hug the best she could, through his armor.

The whole side of the craft whoosed open and a gently sloping ramp awaited.

The Knights were a little hesitant to descend the ramp in full armor they were concerned that they might slip. Sir Remek took the first step and said, "It's soft, like the ship itself and very easy to walk on." He was followed by the remainder of the Knights.
They grouped together looking around, sniffing the air not knowing what to expect. Sir Stud yelled, "Look at that," pointing to the two moons that were full in the night sky, "Man, the one is as big as our moon and the other one is bigger, if that don't beat all."

A man dressed in attire that was similar to their own squires approached them and said something that they couldn't understand. He spread his arms and gestured toward the horses that had been waiting.
He indicated that they should mount.

Sir Marty looked at his horse and couldn't quite make out what was different, but for some reason they were not quite the same as the horses he had grown up with on Earth. This horse was heavier, more muscular and had much thicker ankles that were the weakest part of the horses on earth.

Sir Iguana had been talking with the man using gestures and a lot of animation and told the Knights that the language the man spoke sounded a lot like ancient Gaelic with Celtic roots. He was able to fathom what the man was saying about danger and that when the craft left, there would be no protection and
they might find themselves having to fight their way to the Kingdom.

The Knights mounted one by one with the help of the man who handed up their shields, lances and broad swords. All of the Knights wore their brightly colored tunics from their Kingdoms and their shields were emblazoned WIth each Knights family crest. Quite colorful.
The man mounted his own horse and indicated that they should follow.
The landing site was very large and as the Knights had never before seen concrete, were fascinated at the sharp clicking sound of the horses hooves striking such a hard surface.
The two moons gave ample light almost like dusk on Earth and they had no trouble staying in the battle square that they had formed, with 15 meters between riders.

They reached the edge of the landing site and started down a dirt road that led to the palace.
Suddenly they were under attack. Arrows were coming at them from all directions they raised their shields and tightened up their battle square.

An arrow hit Sir JonPop's shield but did not penetrate, he looked around and saw that the arrows were only slightly penetrating the shields of his comrades and were falling harmlessly to the ground.
He gave a silent prayer to Sir Merlin and thought, "This 'substance' really works."

Sir Stillwantmore watched in disbelief as an arrow that had struck his horse in the flank, slowly backed it's self out and fell to the ground with no trace of a wound. Other than a sleight shudder of his horse, Sir Stillwantmore would probably not have noticed.

The arrows ceased and mounted men with shields raised and lances lowered, were charging the Knights.
They turned to meet the enemy.

In the days before the Knights had their meeting with King Arthur, Science Officer Kingpole had gone to visit Sir Merlin in his laboratory.
He tried to do this on each world and time, that he visited.

He was quiet impressed with the reflective metal that Sir Merlin had made that had thwarted the spammers Ctrl Alt Delete function.

"He told Sir Merlin that he had in his pocket a scrap of paper that had a formula that made a substance, that if applied to the inside of his Knights armor and shields, would stop any arrow from penetrating."

"He said that by Federation directive he couldn't give him the formula, but if it were to accidently fall out of his pocket without his knowing...."

There were several loud clashes of lances on shields or armor.
Six Knights on the team from Earth had succeeded in dismounting their opposing Knight.
Sir JonPop, Sir Remek and Sir Uberschwanz had remained mounted to watch for another charge. Sir Iguana was controlling their horses.
Sir Bret, Sir Stillwantmore and Sir Sonic were engaged in fighting six of the enemy Sir Stud had already dispatched his foe and was watching the backs of his team.
It was over quickly and the opposing Knights from the Chung hoard were dead.

The Knights remounted and remained still, listening for any sounds. There were none except for the heavy breathing of the Knights. It appeared that the attack was over for the moment and that the enemy had slipped away in the darkness.

They looked at each other and were able to smile and raise their right hand and gauntleted fist and shout,
OOHRAH!!.
Sir JonPop asked, "Is anyone hurt?" And received a "Negative, Sir."

Sir JonPop looked at Sir Iguanas shield and saw that it had four small holes where arrows had simply been kept from penetrating. On his own thigh armor, an arrow was barely hanging from the metal. He picked it loose and looked at the tip. Yes, it was steel tipped. The substance that Sir Merlin had applied to all of the Knights' armor and shields had repelled the steel tip.

The man from King Roberts, that had been in the middle of the Knights battle square was unhurt and sat on his horse in amazement at the skill the Knights had shown.
He dismounted and walked to the nearest dead Knight and lifted the visor. He said, "Sir Knights, I have never seen a Knight killed in battle, I have been around jousting games all of my life, but no one had ever been more than just bruised or cut or maybe a few broken bones. That was an amazing display of bravery and King Robert will be told of this.

Sir JonPop said, "What are you called, Son?" "I am called Prince Robert the XXVIII, Sir Knight and I am the Son of King Robert"

Sir JonPop was taken aback at this and said, "Why would your Father send you on such a dangerous task to meet us and take us to the Castle, by yourself?"
Prince Robert said, "My Father said I must do this alone, to prove my bravery and whether I would be worthy of your training to become a Knight."
Sir JonPop said, "You have my vote Prince Robert," and the knights that had over heard the conversation said, "Aye."

Sir JonPop said, "Hold on a minute, young Robert. When we first arrived, you acted as if you didn't understand our language and now you are speaking to us in perfect English.

Prince Robert said, "This is true Sir JonPop, a man's intentions are best learned, if he doesn't know that you understand what he says. I deceived your group a bit until I knew the content of your character."

"Now, if you will, we shall ride to the castle to meet my Father. Hopefully we have demoralized the rogue knights from further attack."

They had an uneventful ride, the road was very smooth and what looked to be, in the small amount of light they had from the two moons, well manicured grass bordering as far as they could see.

Prince Robert said, "Sir Knights, it is not more than two kilometers to the Castle now, if you look down the road and off to the right you can see the faint glow of the torches."

As they approached the Castle Sir Bret thought, "This looks very much like the Castle at ThundersPlace." Sir Remek, exclaimed, "I have seen that Castle before, it looks very much like ThundersPlace!"
Sir Bret let out a laugh and said, "My thoughts exactly, Sir Remek."

The draw bridge and courtyard were well lighted and many people were in the courtyard awaiting the arrival of The Knights from another world.
There had been much speculation about what they would look like, as they had met many strange beings during the Jousting games.

Some thought they would be very strange looking, having long appendages or maybe grotesque. There was a combined sigh when the Knights dismounted and removed their helmets.
Someone in the crowd yelled, "They look just like us." And the crowd broke into hearty laughter.

The people in the kingdom of Robert were exceptionally friendly and the Knights felt very much at ease.

King Robert came down the stairway and approached the assembled Knights.
He was very jolly looking. A rotund man with a round face, white beard and red cheeks, dressed in red velvet with white fur trim. (The Knights all aware of the figure of Saint Nicholas, smiled broadly and nudged one another.)
He said to Robert, "I am blessed to see that you have accomplished the task I had set for you, my Son"

He looked admiringly at the Knights standing at attention, helmets tucked under their arms shields at their sides and said, "Welcome to the Planet Nib and to my home, gentlemen.
I know you must have many questions. These will all be answered in due time.

First, I would like my attendants to show you to your quarters that you may remove your armor and make yourselves comfortable. We will have a briefing and breakfast in two hours. Again, Sir Knights, welcome here."

Many beautiful, young ladies appeared and begin leading the Knights to their quarters.

Each Knight was given his own quarters with private bath, large soft bed, writing desk and a window looking out into a huge, walled arena.
They were shown a central room with many soft chairs and a large table where they could all meet. Each girl told her Knight that she had been assigned to him and would provide anything that they should need.

Sir Stud was to ask, "If that included sex?" To which his girl replied, "Of course Sir Knight, if this is what you require." Sir Stud said, "Well ain't this sweet."

He grabbed his girl by the hand, pulling her into his room and laughingly said as he was closing the door, "Brothers, come get me when it's time to go talk to the King." Sir Marty just smiled and thought, "Yep! That's Brother Studly."

The remainder of the Knights after inspecting their rooms and having their armor removed by the loving hands of their 'girl', decided to meet in the central room for a discussion.
They had many questions for King Robert and Sir Stillwantmore was still very puzzled about the arrow that had struck his horse, backed itself out and the wound healing. The other Knights were astounded to hear of this, for none of them had witnessed this happening.
Another topic was, how did all of these people speak perfect English?

Prince Robert entered the room and the Knights stood.
Prince Robert said, "Please Sir Knights, I am a prince in name only. I will soon be training under your guidance and will be only one of many that will be under your command.
Please be seated as until the time I become a Knight, you are my superiors."

Sir Sonic spoke and said, "You shall be a great Knight Robert and I would be honored to teach you myself." Sir Robert said, "Thank you Sir Sonic Celt.
I have recounted the battle at the landing field of last evening to my Father. He said he now regrets that he put my life in such danger, but said that he will thank you in person in just a short while." Robert continued, "If you Sir's would follow me for just a few minutes I will show you the remainder of the training arena."

He led the way down the corridor to a barracks area and a large room that doubled as a dining room and class room. The rooms of the barracks were filled with young men engaged in various forms of activity, sleeping or just lounging on their bunks. They saw racks of armor lining the walls.
They went out a side door into the vast arena and saw many stables full of horses, a blacksmith shop and many groomers and stable hands. There was a jousting wall in the middle and many pit areas for fighting hand to hand.

Sir Robert said, "Please return to your quarters now and prepare yourselves for breakfast in about 30 minutes. I will send one of the attendants to bring you when it's time."

Sir JonPop knocked on Sir Studs door and said, "Hey Studly, you about through? The king wants us at breakfast in just a few minutes."
The door opened and Sir Studs girl came out with a very large smile on her red face, she gleamed with perspiration on her forehead and her hair was soaking wet. She gave a little giggle and ran off down the corridor, leaving the door open.
Sir Stud was bent over, sitting on the edge of the bed, breathing hard like he had just finished a jousting match. He said, "Wheew Sir JonPop, these girls are way better than the ones we have back home, man. She wouldn't stop and just wore my ass out. Dang, I must be gettin old. Three times bout killed my ass, man."

In the great dining hall, King Robert had an area just for the Knights from Earth. It was elevated about 3 feet higher than the long table that was full of future Knights to be trained.

When the girl led them into the hall, the young men at the long table stood at attention. The knights quite taken by this show of respect, took their indicated seats and gazed down at the young men still standing.
King Robert said, "Please gentlemen, be seated.
We will all eat our breakfast while it still hot and then there will be the introductions and questions."

After the very hearty breakfast was over, the King once again stood and said,

"Gentlemen, may I have your attention, please?"
The low murmur that had been present all during the breakfast, stopped and all eyes focused on King Robert.
He said, "As you all know, these brave Knights are from another world and a time eons before our own.
I will now introduce them." As the Knights were introduced one by one, they received thunderous applause. King Robert said, "Now my good Knights, I will answer any questions you may have."

Sir JonPop had been appointed as the speaker of the group, stood and said, "We have many things that are puzzling to us your Highness.
How is it that you all speak perfect English, have you studied our language?
The King said with a hearty laugh, "Not at all, Sir JonPop. You are speaking and hearing our language that all people of the Planet Nib, speak." Sir JonPop, looking quite puzzled said, "And how is this so, King Robert?" The King said, "This is because when you traveled the far distance from your world, to ours, you were placed in hyper sleep. Our language was taught to you while you were asleep."
"It is so natural to you now, it's as if it were your own."
Sir JonPop asked, "When we return home will we still speak this language?
How will we be understood?" King Robert laughed again with his jolly laugh and said, "No, as soon as you hear someone on your world speak, you will revert to your natural language, but you will always be able to speak Nibbonese." (Ha-so hee.)

Sir JonPop saw that Sir Stillwantmore had his hand in the air and said, "Sir SWM, you have a question for the King?" He stood and said, "Yes, if I may." Sir JonPop looked at King Robert and he nodded his head.

Sir SWM said, "Your highness, during the battle at the landing site, my horse was shot in the flank with a steel tipped arrow. He shuddered and while I watched, the arrow worked it'self out and the wound closed.
How is this possible?"

King Robert again stood and said, "These "Horses" that you will use here in your fight against the outlaw Chung, have been developed over thousands of years. The modern version that can heal themselves were altered by our Alchemist, timesbechangin. No one, not even Chung has this formula.

Sir Remek stood and said, "This means that these mounts can't be killed?" King Robert replied, "No, they can be killed if they are severely wounded, such as a lance or a spiked Mace to the head."

"Now, you must tell me how your armor and shields resist penetration by those same steel tipped arrows."

Sir JonPop said, "We don't know exactly King Robert, our great magician Sir Merlin devised a liquid, that when applied to the inside of our armor and shields will stop an arrow from penetrating more than a few millimeters. We do not have knowledge of how this was made, nor extra liquid to protect the men from Nib, that we will train."

King Robert sighed and said, "That is a shame, it would have been such an advantage. You will have to prepare these young men well Sir Knights and I fear we are running out of time."

The Knights stood in a line in the center of the arena dressed in their armor and shields at their sides. Their broadswords crossed over their breastplate. They looked at the 200 or so young men before them that wanted to be Knights. The young men were in total awe of such splendor and were talking loudly amongst themselves.

Sir JonPop stepped forward and with a sweeping gesture of his gauntleted hand, said, "These fearless Knights are what you will become, if you have the courage and the will to do as you are told.
This will not be easy, nor will it be fun. We are here to instruct you in the ways of Knighthood, how to kill your opponent and not to die.

You have been been divided into groups of 25 or so and each group has been assigned to a Knight from Earth. At any one time, half of this group will be here in the arena learning to fight and the other half will be in the classroom where you will learn to outwit your opponent."

He said in a very loud voice so even those in the back could hear;

"This is the law:

The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is Supplemental."

There had been a gathering in the classroom of all of the Knights and the Young Knight trainees.
Sir JonPop had asked for a show of hands, "If any men present had been a squire?"
About 60 hands went up. He asked, "How many had prior training by their Knight?" 8 hands went up. He asked, "How many owned armor and had it here?" Almost all of the class raised their hands.
Sir JonPop said, "Those with armor, go to your dorm, put on your armor and assemble in the arena with Sir Sonic."

As the young men were leaving he turned to Sir Remec and said, If 50 of these men make it through our training and actually become Knights, I'll be very surprised." At this, Sir Remek, nodded and smiled.

The remaining men who were without armor, were instructed to meet with Sir Bret to be measured so armor could be made for them by the blacksmith and metal workers.

Sir Sonic looked over the rows of young men in their armor and thought, "Good Lord, I have never seen a more pathetic bunch."
The armor ranged from mere pieces, to sizes too small or too large.
Sir sonic pointed to one man and said, "Step forward." The Man, as large as Sir Sonic, stepped forward and saluted.
Sir Sonic asked, "What is your name trainee?" The man said, "Sir, my name is Big Al and I have had several weeks of training from the Knight I squired for, Sir Rocky."
Sir Sonic said, "Yes, I can see that your armor fits you well and is very serviceable, do you have a broadsword, a shield and a lance?" "Big Al said, "Yes Sir Sonic, back at the barracks, we were not told to bring these, just our armor."
Sir Sonic thought, "Well at least they got that part right."

Out loud he said, "Big Al, I am appointing you as the Captain of this class, I want you to choose from among the ranks, the other men that had prior training to head each group."
He added, "You have seen myself and the other Knights' in our armor. I want you to send any man whose armor doesn't meet the standards for combat, or is ill fitting, to Sir Bret at the foundry. The remaining men will be divided into equal groups.
Sir Iguana, Sir Stud and Sir Stilwantmore, will do an interview with each of you to see at what stage of training we will start you."

About 3/4's of the class were sent by Big Al to meet with Sir Bret.
Sir Sonic said, "When you are measured for your armor, go to the class room and meet with Sir Remek, Sir Uberschwanz and Sir Marty."

The 'Yeap Farms' were one of the main suppliers to the Kingdom Of Robert. Mr Yeap had been a former Knight and had participated in many jousting matches over the years. He had raised both his Sons in the ways of the Knight. When they weren't working on the farm, they were practice jousting and use of the broadsword. Mr Yeap felt that with a little more time, both of his Sons would have been better than he.

Now, as he looked out over his burned and ravished fields his once proud home reduced to ashes, both his Sons dead in the fight he suddenly felt very old and tired, but he knew he had information that he must take to King Robert and the Knights from Earth.

He had been forced to hide as the battle raged around him.
It was useless for him to try and save his Sons as reveling himself would only have gotten him killed.
But his Sons fought valiantly, until they were overwhelmed by sheer number.
They had accounted for two of Chung's Knights killed with lances to the chest from both his Sons before being knocked to the ground and beaten to death. He couldn't even take time to bury his boys as he knew that even with the death of his Son's, he had observed things about Chung's tactics that would be invaluable to King Robert and must not reveal himself, lest there be men watching. The rogue Knights never left anyone alive as a witness.

He wiped away the last remaining tear and waited for nightfall. He would have to walk the 30 kilometers to the Castle and hope to evade any roving band of Chung's thugs.

More than 150 trainees stood in line to be measured for their new armor.
The Blacksmith, the metal works, the weapons shop and all that worked in the foundry were overwhelmed with trying to work and having to measure.
Sir Bret sent a runner to the classroom to ask Sir Remek to send all of the knights attendants to the blacksmith shop. When the girls arrived they got a lot of whistles and leers from the young men in line.
The girls were enjoying this immensely.
They were instructed by Sir Bret on what must be measured and how precise the measurements must be.

With paper and stylus in hand the young beautiful attendants begin to measure the men for their armor.
One of the measurements was the groin protection, this had to be an exact measurement for each man, as the groin piece must be comfortable enough to sit in the saddle for long periods of time.

The girls were a little embarrassed at first as the young men seemed to be enjoying this a bit too much.
As they measured, the young girls were having to touch their penis several times to get the critical measurements.
Several got erections and had to step out of line until it subsided.

Pretty soon the line of men waiting for their erections to subside was so long, that Sir Bret said, "This is not going to work."
He told the girls, to do just the parts of the armor that wouldn't involve the groin piece.

Several of the girls stuck out their bottom lip and pouted. Many boo's came from the line of men, to which Sir Bret promptly pulled them out of line and made them each do 50 push-ups saying, "This is NOT a game, this armor will be your home for the duration of your training. Ill fitting armor will make you wish on your Mother that you had never volunteered for training as a Knight. Now! Pay attention, we have much to do and no time to do it."

Sir bret instructed a very ugly, short man how to measure for the groin protection plate.
Again there were a few boo's and more push-ups.

Mr Yeap had a harrowing journey to the castle. Even in the dark of night, he had to hide many times to avoid the roving bands of rogue Knights.

In the over 30 kilometers he had to travel by foot, he had seen many, many farms and fields laid waste and many bodies still lying where they had fallen.

Even at the walls of the city he was afraid to call out for fear that he would be seen.
He spotted a guard on the wall, picked up a rock and threw it striking just below where the guard was standing. The guard peered into the darkness and said, "Who's there?"
Mr Yeap, trying not to talk louder than he had to, said, "It is I, John Yeap, from the Yeap farms. I must speak with the King." The guard said, "How do I know it is you and not a trap?"
Mr Yeap decided at great risk to himself that he would light a handful of dried grass to illuminate his face.

The King was very sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Yeaps sons and although he knew that the supplies from outside the city walls had dwindled in the last few weeks, he was shocked to hear the reason.
It had been days since the King had sent patrols to scout out the enemy and he halted these when they didn't return.

Prince Robert was being tutored by Sir Sonic. He was very bright, listened and put into practice what he was learning.
He had moved far ahead of all in his class and had surprised even Sir Sonic, with his skill.

The three weeks of training had eliminated a great portion of the young trainees, these men were sent to the Captain of the archers to be taught the ways of the bow.

There were surprisingly, over 100 men still learning the skills that would enable them to become Knights.

King Robert made an announced visit to the compound to meet with the Knights. The trainees stood in perfect formation, with the Knights standing at attention in front. All were in their armor and made a great impression on the King.

The King spoke in a voice loud enough to be heard by all and said, "I have grave news.
The supplies from our province have been stopped by Chung. The people in this city are demanding to know when they will be able to receive food.
I have brought a former Knight, Mr. Yeap before you to tell you something he observed as he watched his two sons killed by Chungs Knights. Please Mr. Yeap, speak loudly so that all may hear."

Mr. Yeap looked over the assembled young men resplendent in their new armor and could feel a lump forming in his throat. He choked this back and said, "My Sons were the age that the most of you are now, I had great hopes that one day they would be standing proud as you are now, training to become Knights for the Kingdom of Robert, but alas my young champions the evil Chung has robbed me and my Sons of our dream. This said, I will now address the Knights from the far world.

Sir JonPop, Sir Remek and your champion Sir Sonic, indeed all of you before me, your names have spread throughout the lands of the Kingdom of Robert. The tales you have told these young men and your adventures are now fabled stories. This has not escaped the notice of Chung and he has prepared a mighty horde to do battle.

We have on the World of Nib, a creature called the Lion Raptor. This creature is devious and cunning. It hunts in threes and Chung has adopted this tactic.
I observed this first hand at the Yeap Farms. I think that Chung was waiting for the right opportunity to use this.

My Sons had been practice jousting and were in full armor when his Knights struck. My Sons were probably at the stage of training that all of these fine young men are now. They managed to kill two of Chungs Knights with their lance when they were struck from both sides by two other Knights and felled to the ground. I only saw the six Knights as I think Chung was observing this tactic. They were then, beaten to death unmercifully.

Chung now has many, many mounted Knights and my belief is that he would gladly trade one Knight killed to defeat each of you. I do not believe however, that his Knights are anywhere near the caliber of men I see before me as my Sons easily defeated the opponent facing them and would have been able to defeat the others as well had they not been blind sided.

I bring you this observation so that you might plan a way to counter this. God bless the Kingdom of Robert, and all of you here that you might prevail."

The Knights from Earth had learned a trick or two and decided to test the Knights of Chung, first hand.
King Robert was anxious to learn the fate of his surrounding farms and small hamlets and approved the Knights plans.

In the training arena, they had simulated Chungs tactics using their battle square.
When a student Knight would charge at them from the front, they would stop and turn in all four directions.
No one attacking from either side was able to get through.

The Knights from Earth felt that the students weren't quite ready yet, as their armor had no protection from the arrows of Chungs archers and decided that they would go on a probing mission alone, to test their new tactic.
This was to be an early morning expedition while the sun was at their backs.

The Knights had not traveled more than three kilometers when they came to the first of the ravaged farms.
The early morning sun cast eerie shadows over the burnt landscape and what remained of farm houses and outbuildings.
The wind was still and there were no sounds.
They could smell the unmistakable odor of death as they got closer.

The Knights looked at each other and nodded, all felt the presence of something about to happen.

Ahead on the road about 1/2 kilometer, the Knights could see sunlight glinting off armor and shields.
They could also see that riders were turning in to attack them from the flanks.

It was hard to estimate the numbers of the enemy because of the distance, but they figure they were outnumbered by at least ten to one. Sir JonPop smiled at this and turned in his saddle and said, "Well, my brothers, it's time to put our plan into action."

The Knights formed their battle square and started slowly up the road towards Chung and his Knights.
They were judging the speed of the flankers and at a certain point, they formed into a single front and with a mighty yell, charged at the center of the enemy.

This totally caught the enemy off guard because they had been informed by their spies that the Knights from Earth would stay in their battle square and Chung had devised a tactic that he thought would defeat this.

The Knights from the Kingdom of BetterMan and the PE Gym, hit the center of the line with such force that they had succeeded in dismounting or killing at least 20 of Chungs men.
They turned and with broadsword and mace, begin to destroy those that were still within reach.

The flankers had not yet made their turn and were at the moment, no threat. The Knights from Earth had turned their backs on Chungs archers and they were firing arrows into their own ranks, killing or wounding many of their own Knights.

Sir Remek felt many arrows glance of his armor and the back of his helmet and once again, said a silent thank you to Sir Merlin. The deflected arrows were taking their toll on Chungs foot soldiers and Chung ordered the archers to stop firing.
As the flanking enemy Knights were about to turn in to attack, they were hit from the rear by the more than 100 student Knights.

Unbeknownst to King Robert and to the student Knights until the last minute, Sir Jon Pop and all of the Knights, including Big Al, the captain of the trainees and Prince Rob had spent many hours in their meeting room with doors tightly sealed going over a plan that he and the Knights had devised. He knew that Chung had spies, it was just a matter of common sense.
This is why they practiced over and over in their battle square with the students and had announced to King Robert in open court, that this was the plan that they would use to defeat Chung.

The Knights of Chungs army had begun to scatter and the trainee Knights in battle squares, had quickly broken the flankers into small groups and were dispatching them with lance and broadsword.

Sir JonPop saw that Sir Bret had been knocked from his horse and was in hand to hand combat with a very large knight. He goaded his horse into a gallop and with a mighty swing with his mace, made short work of the helmet and head of the man.
The foot soldiers and archers had turned tail and were leaving in Droves, running for their lives.
There were now many fights on the ground, but the overpowering skill of the Knights from Earth and the training they had drilled into the young Knights soon proved too much and the remaining Knights of Chung beat a hasty retreat.
Sir JonPop had to yell at Sir Sonic and Sir Stillwantmore, to break off the fight and to not chase the fleeing men.

Where there had been bedlam and noise with the sounds and fury of the battle, there now was quiet, except for the moaning and cries of the wounded.
Many dead Knights littered the ground, soldiers were scattered dead or wounded.
Chung's Knights' horses were laying dead, many killed by their own archers, or the wounded horses were being put down by the Young Knights.

Sir Remek looked at the rear of his horse and saw many arrows that were still working their way out of the flesh and again marveled at such a beast.
The battlefield was littered with parts of armor and weapons.

Sir JonPop sent about half of the young Knights back to the castle to bring wagons and physicians to tend to the wounded and had his men begin to round up the prisoners that could still walk.

The Knights searched for Chung amongst the dead and surmised that he had escaped.

Thanks Stroker. Got so darn busy I didn't have time to write on the Star Knights story.
I'll try and get a few more chapters done later this week. Glad you are enjoying the story.
Did I mention that the "attendants" have been waiting for a break in the training and the skirmish with Chung to get over? They have become some very horny girls. They can't believe how big the Knights from Earth are and they have become totaly addicted to fucking.
More to follow.

There was much commotion back at the quarters of the Knights, they had some nicks and bruises that needed to tend to and all were wanting a soak bath and a massage from their attendants.

Sir JonPop said, "Well so much for being just advisors and recruiters, but it's been a long time since the spammer war and damn it felt good to get that adrenalin rush again."
Sir Stud added, "Yea man, that was almost as good as my girls pussy."
Everyone laughed loudly at that, except Sir Iguana, who grabbed his side.

Sir Iguana had managed to lean away from a spiked mace swung at his head, but took the blow to his side. This left a large dent in his armor and what he felt might be broken ribs.
The Knights wanted a count of the trainees because they had heard by rumor that 3 had been killed and several wounded.
They all went to their individual rooms and their girls helped remove their armor.

The Court physician was called to check the damage to the Knights. He found only some minor cuts and bruises and left healing potions with the attendants. Sir Iguana was indeed diagnosed with a cracked 8th, rib was instructed to bathe and he would be back in 30 minutes to wrap his ribs.

Sir Iguana's girl was a beautiful honey blond. He didn't know why, but she reminded him of someone from his past that he had been very fond of in fact had considered marrying.

In Sir Bret's room his girl was carefully applying healing salve to his slight cuts and a large bruise on his right arm. At 5' 10" she stood almost as tall as Sir Bret and when he looked at her, he saw a taller version of Princess Jennifer Thunder. His heart would skip a little beat every time he looked into her face.

Unbeknownst to the Knights, when they had been in hyper sleep, not only were they learning the language of Nib, but their very thoughts were being read.

These attendants had been carefully selected to fill a deep need in each Knight and fulfill their desires with comfort and care. It would have been impossible for any of the Knights to reject their chosen girl. They were a product of the deep subconscious.

Of course this was never revealed to the Knights, as they would have felt extremely violated.
