| Overtraining? Guys, I just finished my first full week with the Jelq Device, I have started to get the hang of the device and i really like it so far. I tried a few lubes and i really do lke teh johnson baby oil gel, it works great for me. I didn't think a lube could have such an effect of how my workout went but it honestly does.
I got the device the middle of last week and did a a few short test runs with it that week then a full week of 4 workouts: Monday through Thursday for 20 minutes, 20 minutes, 25 minutes, and 30 minutes. Concentrating on each stroke, around 3-4 seconds, threw in a few shorter ones and a few longer ones.
To my real issue now, i was with my girlfriend friday, and usually once we begin making out/foreplay i am fully erect and don't need any stimulation from her to be ready for sex. But this time i started to get erect then nothing.. i was a little more than flaccid, but basically limp.
I noticed i had a decent amount of red spots and small bruses on the glans. (More than usual, and they didn't go away in a day like normal)
I am somewhat used to jelqing, but my sessions aren't as long .. plus this device seems to and reportedly works much better than manual hand jelqing....
its amazing that 30 minutes on the jelq device is fun and plasureable while 30 minutes with hands it tedious and boring..perhaps i was overtraining /overdoing it a bit? I hope so! What do you think?

| When I'm on a full routine I have the same problem, if there is any chance of having sex I will need about two days to fully recover to have 100% wood. I would also think 30 minutes with a JD would be asking for a good chance to overtrain. I have been PE'ing for 8 months and have problems with anything over 15 minutes. I know we are all different but you may want to consider doing only enough to produce the results you are looking for. JMO. |

| Sounds like overtraining to me. Make sure to warm up properly AND warm down too; IMO, the warm down is every bit as important as the warm up. Take a couple of days off from jelquing, do your preferred warm-up/warm-down method several times a day and you'll be fine. One thing I will tell you is to not write off the good ole' hand. I went through the same "JD Fever" as you when I first got mine adn I can tell you that, after using it long enough and giving the hand a try again, I realized that the hand is ultimately the BEST when it comes to jelquing. The JD is great and it's good for adding a different dimension to jelquing and mixing up your routine, but the hand has all the mind-body sensors that you'll never be able to reproduce with a device. Alternate between hand and JD and ALWAYS, ALWAYS WARM UP & DOWN; you'll have better workouts, avoid injury and recover a lot quicker. |

| Something I've found in my short 5 months @ PE, is that (especially when it comes to girth work such as jelqs, Ulis, ect) more is not always better. These days, with proper technique and focus, I'm getting the job done in 20 mins; 5mins warm up, 10mins jelquing, 5mins warm down, and BOOM!, I'm all set. Some days, if my unit "asks" for it, I'll do another session in the evening; it all depends how quickly it all recovered during the day. Listen to your body, fellas; the body has the wisdom to know what to do...all you gotta do is learn how to listen and it'll guide you through the right path, helping you avoid all the usual bumps and setbacks on the road to phallic greatness.  |

| Perhaps W.M.P put it best when he said "JD Fever"! I really do enjoy the device over hand jelq's but i see the point and importance of hand jelq's too. Something i hadn't mentioned before is that along with the JD, I am also using an andro penis (Sizegenetics ADS), a Circle device, and Hand jelqing (i decreased the amount of these considerably with the addition of the JD) I also of course do some manual stretching and Kegels to keep the erection quality up with my increasing unit size ;) I take a good multivitamin, in addition to l-arginine, ginko, ginseng, and saw palmetto, from what i've read all of these are good for circulation to the genital area, energy, or good for maintaining a healthy prostate.
Something which i had neglected until recently in my career was my warm ups, but for the last 4 months or so i have been really focusing on this. I fill up the sink with the hottest water my water tank puts out and warm up reheating/ applying a washcloth several times for a full 10 minutes. My warm down is the same process but for 7-8 minutes instead of 10.
I will ease up on the JD.. as a matter of fact i was doing quite a bit more than what the "average" participant did during thier clinical study thing. Or, at least ease into the device a bit more slowly than what i have so far.
Overall I woul tend to say i was being more aggressive than i should have, but excited because i seem to have broken out of what has been an unusually long palteau for me, and wanted to assure as much growth as i could now that I'm seeing some results again. Now i guess i have to refine my "listening to the body" skills..
