To be honest, no, my standards aren't too high. In fact, I've readjusted them slightly. This doesn't mean I'm going to accept anything. I realize that the only way I'm ever going to find someone is to date and meet different women and through casual conversation, find out about who they are and what they're about. Now, would I date someone who's a grocery store checker that has a heart of gold over someone who's got a high corporate career, power and prestige but is totally void of a personality and is a bitch? Absolutely.
In my efforts to protect my heart from being hurt again, yes, I have been too picky these past several years. I will find me a good, decent, compassionate woman. Guarantee it. The only way to find that person is to get out there, meet and talk to them. That's one of my goals for 2008.
