Oh, I agree too, if you watch our youth, initially they start out with great mechanics without teaching or training, proper deadlift when picking up heavier objects, proper movement when learning to walk and run. Somewhere the system breaks down and they get lazy, unaware of their surroundings and bodies. Partly to blame is the parents and lack of after school and summer activities that have been replaced by video games and hanging out indoors, secondly is the break down of the school system and phys ed classes. there is no order in phys ed anymore, just grab a sport implement and play. Aside from that, technology has had an effect as well, but that goes without explanation.
Those that are in tune with what is going on, such as you and your 8 year old will prosper in the long run. Those that are too concerned with themselves and not their children will not.
